If
you appreciate the speed, stability, and sea-kindly comfort
of the stock Class Waterman 12', or 14-foot (T.C.) Traditional
Class, but want to enter Unlimited class events, then the
16-foot Stretch Waterman may be the board that serves your
paddling needs best.
Ideal
for rough-water, down-wind, choppy channel work, the 16-foot
length is short enough to overcome the greatest problem most
longer, knife-nosed boards face --- "pearling".
All Waterman
hulls are designed with relatively straight deckline sheer,
and a progressive declining elliptical bottom contour rather
than rocker. This, coupled with the wider nose, enhances
stability and precludes fatigue induced by the need to fight
constant tippiness.
Because
of a number of width options, larger paddlers are able to
achieve a degree of stability unknown in other board designs
